How To Use Your Baggy Shampoo

To use your Baggy Shampoo, wet your hair thoroughly. Rub the shampoo bar (with the bag around it) between your hands so that it starts to lather up. The bag helps the lathering process. Then rub the bag with the bar in it directly on your head. Massage the lather around so that it covers your whole head, down to the tips of your hair.  Rinse as you would any shampoo.

If you live in an area with hard water, you may need to repeat the process twice if you find that it doesn’t lather up as well the first time (owing to the hard water). The first time can be quick and less thorough. It will be easier to spread the lather over your whole scalp the second time. It is possible to use a pre-wash mixture of a table spoon of bicarbonate of soda dissolved in a pint of water to wet your hair before shampooing. This can help increase the amount of lather if a lack of lather is an issue in your area. We really do find that moving between hard and soft water totally changes the Baggy Shampoo-ing experience, so it is worth experimenting to find out what works best for wherever you are.

You can use your usual conditioner after using your Baggy Shampoo if you wish. Some people like to make their own traditional hair rinse to use after washing. There are lots of recipes for this online, using cider vinegar, for example.

Once you have finished washing your hair with your Baggy Shampoo, simply hang it up to dry, ready for the next time you use it.

As with trying all new products, if you have particularly sensitive skin, it is a good idea to test the new product on a small patch before committing to using it across your whole head. We haven’t had any reports of any issues, but it can be useful to be cautious if you know you are particularly sensitive skinned.

Product Information

Baggy Soap is a product borne out of a love for the environment and a desire to rid the planet of plastic waste. There is so much focus on carrier bags, disposable cups and straws, yet so many of us generate plastic waste every day in the bathroom, through using shower gel, shampoo and other products in plastic bottles. We want to change that.

We have developed Baggy Soap to offer a superior cleaning experience, leaving your hair, your body and your conscience squeaky clean. Our cotton bags are 100% biodegradable and our handmade soaps have been carefully chosen to work perfectly with our bags. We are committed to using no plastic and welcome feedback from our customers.
